Mixed Reality Flight Simulation – ImMRsiv

Running a start-up company is harder than most people realize.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada – 18 July 2022 — We have been working for 3-years to develop an affordable, high-quality Mixed Reality flight simulator (#ImMRsiv), automated flight instruction tool (#ImMRsiv+) and AI (#ImMRsiv Total) that will reduce the time and cost of flight training, and at the same time produce a better pilot. This has been no small task.

Last month we received an ARD grant from #NSERC, with additional support from #Mitacs, to develop our #AI, and last week we were advised by #InnovativeSolutionsCanada that our proposal has been selected as a pre-qualified proposal to support pilot training in the #RCAF. This may only mark the mid-point of a much longer journey, but sometimes small steps can mean so much.

To everyone in my network who are also running start-ups, I salute you, because I now understand the guts required to chase an innovation you think the world needs.

For those who have been in our corner throughout this journey, I offer my most sincere thanks. To name only a few: without the early encouragement of Wayne Chapin at #transportcanada, without the wise critique of Steve Linthwaite at #JazzAviation, without the patient counsel of Laura Yu at #Mitacs, and without the ‘can-do’ attitude of Terry Peckham at #saskatchewanpolytechnic, we wouldn’t have made it this far.

I’d also like to give a shout out to #Canada. Without programs like #NSERC, #Mitacs and #InnovativeSolutionsCanada, small innovators like us really wouldn’t stand a chance!
